Dr. Alexander Tarnovsky is a photo-physicist working in the general area of investigating ultrafast (fs) photoinduced processes and reactions, excited state dynamics and photophysical processes in small molecules and materials. His group utilizes the tools of ultrafast time-resolved spectroscopy, primarily deep-UV-Vis-near-IR pump/probe and laser pump/x-ray absorption probe techniques. Currently his lab houses a 35- and 100-fs transient absorption spectrometer laser system.
